The home is very clean and welcoming. The communication with the property host (Christian) is excellent. The kitchen is large and wonderful to cook in and it has mostly everything you need. However, if you’re needing something specific like a hand mixer, you’ll need to bring that or ask the host if the kitchen has a specific thing you need prior to check in. They do have a small air fryer which was a nice surprise. The only thing I’ll say that’s a little negative is the thermostat is programmed to where you cannot adjust it. So it would get really warm in the house later in the day even with the windows open. Now I never reached out to the host to see if I could bypass the thermostat but something to talk to them about prior to your stay if this is a concern for you. If you and your family like to play games, I’d suggest you bring some with you as the only games offered is Apples to Apples and some puzzles. Overall this was a wonderful experience and would stay at this home again in the future.

The Venetian Charm house is perfectly located for exploring beaches in N. California / S. Oregon and the redwoods. I would call it semi-rural, as there are neighbors, but still a feeling of privacy, although shopping essentials are easy in nearby Brookings.The house was very clean and there was all the kitchen equipment needed for home cooking. The grill is getting on in years, but still works fine. (Unfortunately, one of the downsides of living near the sea is salt!) There is plenty of separation between bedrooms, so plenty of privacy. This would be perfect for two families with teens that get along well.We loved seeing all the birds in the yard, including quail, hummingbirds, lots of swallows, and even a great blue heron visiting the small pond in back. The surrounding area is even richer in bird life.We would happily rent this house again.
